This is Oklahoma...

We gather to watch the storms...

You totally know the storm is a good one, when you go out to look...

and all the neighbors are coming out to look also.

YUP

This is Oklahoma....

We tend to be mesmerized....

We stand out to "LOOK" at rotations in the clouds.

This is dirt from the fields being sucked up into the storm....

(up draft)

This usually means...

There is a nader 'bout to form.

Last night was pretty cool.

We had a hail storm to the South...

AND

one to the North.

They hit right over our house....

This is actually the picture of the North storm sucking the life right out of teh South storm.

Totally amazeballs to watch!

Every good Oklahoman knows though.....

When to run and hide....

Party in the storm shelter...

Yes there were tornado "touch n go's"

like 4 within 5 miles of our house....

One was 1 miles NW of our home....

Someone watches the radar on the tv

until the very last second....

After all 3 storms and all the hail passed....

Finally got to sleep....

Then the alarm goes off.

I hear thunder.

Seriously....

*SIGH*

Then hail.....

It hailed for a good 20 minutes...

Marble sized hail.

Then....

came  golf ball size hail

UGH!

We get an instant replay tonight.

Lucky Us....

May or May Not.....

Speaking of crazy....

I am so crazy far behind on blog posts....

I am not ever going to catch up!

SO.... that means today....

I may or may not be posting just a bunch of randomistic

junk that may or may not have happened...

I just can't remember!

Deal with it....

We may or may not have  had some friends over for Cinco De Mayo.

Had a taco bar thing going on...

OH... I made some of the most YUMMIEST enchiladas ever.

Funnest night in a while....

We may or may not have had way to many Margaritas.

Our blender will never be the same.

We may or may not have ended up drinking said Margaritas from penis shaped straws....

We may or may not have gotten a demo from a gay guy on how to "properly" suck on a penis straw....

We found a local fav place of ours does a Taco Tuesday....

Totally to die for!

As much as I love Mexican Food....

Nobody would possibly believe I am Canadian-French.

I may or may not have got my hair did....

It was about dang time.

I suck at taking self portraits....

Just sayin'

We may or may not have ended up at the annual mud bog again this year.

Just call me a redneck.... but I just love go to these things!

Yes we sit out in the middle of a cow pasture for hours and hours....

and watch silly boys men try to drive through 4 feet of mud!

Where this one ended up getting stuck half way through....

What it looked like after being towed out......

I may or may not have got totally to much sun and dirt that day....

 The wind was blowing 25+ mph

I am still peeling

 Sometimes trucks got stuck and had to be pulled out with the tractor....

And sometimes the tractor got stuck and had to be pulled out by the truck....

And sometimes....

The field got cleared out...

With everyone running to catch a glimpse help...

A truck rolling over and catching on fire.

No worries...

Nobody was hurt.

 The Hubs and I may or may not have started bowling on a FUN league on Wednesday nights....

This league does not award prizes at the end for the best....

But... we are in 2nd place and I am keeping track...

Yes I am a competitive biotch like that...

really though...

 it is a 9 pin no tap league with colorama twisted in.

That means.....

On your first ball if you hit 9 OR 10 pins....

it's a strike

Also, they have colored pins...

Depending where those pins are...

You can win some money.

I won $7 last week...WOOT WOOT

 I may or may not have had a couple few of these things while bowling last week....

I may or may not have posted "BJs and bowling balls" with this pic on my facebook....

I may or may not have removed it the next morning... lol

Catchin' Up is Hard to Do!

There is no way I am ever going to get things caught up on the ol' blog.

I keep finding pictures on my phone and thinking....

OH, I was going to blog about that...

Then...

My work has been so crazy,

I don't have time on my lunch to post.

But things are slowly going back to normal.

I will be better.

I am going to sound like a broken record here... but please...

I have mentioned it before...

But for a while now...

I have been bowling on a league each Monday night.

A friend needed an extra person on a team.

I volunteered.

It was crazy times....

and very rough to keep up during tax season.

but worth it in the end...

The newly developed team of 4 strangers finished in first place.

AND I SUCK at bowling!

I do get lucky every now and again.....

Like in this no tap game...

I had my highest score ever bowling with the Hubs on Saturday!

I have totally great intentions on being back to blogging regularly now...

Work has still got a death grip on me.
Grrrrrr

I had a really fun blog post planned for today.

Then something happened over the weekend....

AND

I must share.

For part of my Mother's Day....

I decided I wanted to go bowling with the kiddo and the hubs.

Rare thing for us to do something together.

The alley I bowl in...

They have 2 hour specials on the weekends.

From 6-8, 8-10, or 10-12.

8-10 it is....

Decided to go early so we could eat before.

They have the YUMMIEST food.

Screw the diet on bowling night....

Kobi decided she wanted to take a friend.

No problem.... But said friend was at a wedding and wasn't going to be at our house until 7:15.

Fine... take your own car.

At 7:30, I text Kobi.... yup the friend is running late.

8pm.... still no friend.

8:30...... I am extremely irritated.

8:45..... leaving rather she is there or not.

The friend finally showed up at 8:45.

The owner of the bowling alley said they could just do their 2 hours from 9:30-11:30.

I was still kind of hot under the collar. 

I mean, this was supposed to be a fun thing

for all of us....

So the girls leave....

On the way, Kobi called...

She was having issues getting through on the road.

It was blocked with 2 fire trucks and a bunch of cops.

I told her no worries, it was probably just a wreck.

Country back roads, people speed....

There is always an animal out somewhere on that road.

They finally made it through....

Everything worked out.

I was still kind of mad though...

That just took more time from our outting.

On the way home, there were news crews set up where Kobi had saw all the cops and fire trucks.

So I got home and looked on teh computer to see what had happened.

NOTHING

Sunday morning....

I found it.

A news story of what had happened.

After we had driven down that road to go to the bowling alley....

A gunman started shooting at a car as it passed.

Cops responded, a chase started,  a shootout happened....

The gunman dies.

If the girls saw fire trucks and cops....

and more cops on the way....

and no ambulance....

that means

IT HAD JUST HAPPENED!

I don't know about where you are...

but here, the fire trucks are first responders,

they get to the scene first.

Then EMSA(ambulance) comes in to transport.

The fire trucks usually leave once the ambulance arrives.

OOOHHHH MYYYYYY GOOOODNEESSSSS. 

THAT COULD HAVE SO BEEN ONE OF US!

I am so not a religious person.

But, I do believe in God.

AND

I do believe God made Kobi's friend late...

and kept them safe.

Kobi and I both get easily irritated when things do not go as planned.

So....

I asked her what our "life lesson" was out of this....

Her response....

"It's a good thing to be late".

UGH!

I told her....

It's ok if things do not go as planned.

God has a reason.

Just go with it.....

Life Happens

I have been meaning to start up the blog posts on a more regular basis since tax season is over.

However, life happens....

Work is more busy now than ever.

Kobi is now enrolled in college classes

(yes she is only 16 and will be a High School Sr. next year)

Kobi ran in her first 5K and placed 3rd in her age group!

We had a multi family garage sale....

Bowling is coming to an end

(Bowling in the Championship on Monday)

((Yes I am a nerd like that))

Yard work and house work has taken over the fun....

This weekend is Cinco De Mayo

any local peeps want to come...

Kobi went critter crazy....

While setting up for the garage sale, our neighbor brought over his sugar glider...

Kobi is DEATHLY afraid of birds.....

I was surprised she did this!

(she may or may not have tinkled in her panties here)

If Kobi could raise giraffes.... she would.

Always been a favorite animal of hers.

Now at our local zoo... they allow you to feed the giraffes.

She is lovin it! 

OH wait!  That's not one of Kobi's critter pics....

We caught Peter.

We are now rabbit free.

Yeah!

They were all turned out to explore the feild near our house.

NOW FOR MY RANT.....

The one year anniversary of THIS is approaching....

The tornado that came so close to our place....

Although it is only the cousin of a BFF of mine, who lost her babies....

It still haunts me.

I didn't even know her, or the children.

But they were just a few miles from my home.

I helped my BFF struggle through the situation...

Up on the phone  all night with her a couple of times....

both sitting on our own back porches...

miles apart...

drinking away our cares.

The deaths brought up alot for her.

She had not gone to a funeral since her daddy's funeral...

She wasn't going to go...

She didn't think she could handle it.

I am glad she did.

This event had a large impact on many people in the area....

The news stations are even starting to "remember" the anniversary of that horrible day...

My BFF's cousin was pregnant at the time.

She took shelter in a bathtub with her other 3 children...

Pulled a mattress over top of them.

This is what we have always been told to do.

However, it just wasn't enough.

It's just not fair.

Every since then, every time I hear....

I took shelter the bathtub...

Or we went in the closet....

I cringe.

Get a storm shelter people.

Oklahoma is in freakin' tornado alley!

I see people spend money on vacations...

Expensive cars....

Swimming pools....

Shelters are not that expensive...

It could save the life of you or your child.

Don't wait until it's to late.
