Everyone Likes Little Peter

A while back, the Hubs n I discovered we had a rabbit living under our deck.
Fine...
OH wait...
There are two of you...

Even though the veggie garden is gone this year...
I still don't want the bunnies around to munch on things
or poop in the yard
or torment our old blind dog with their scent.
So we tormented the bunnies.
Every time we saw them, we chased them with an air horn.
*smile*
No more bunnies.

So we thought.
THEN
I noticed the flowers in my flower bed were being ate up.
oh crap... they're back and they brought reinforcement.

That evening ....
this thing appeared on my back patio.
Isn't he just adorable?
So I left him be....
Sat down and with a drink and a smoke...
{yes I smoke... don't judge}
That was one stiff drink let me tell ya...
I started seeing double!
Ummmm Hello.... we have a problem here.
SO I did the most logical thing I knew...
I called my Momma.
Luckily, she was coming to the city the next day....
She brought me one of these....
Well something pretty close to it....
I stuffed what seems to be their favorite in the cage....
Lots of honeysuckle flowers...
A few baby carrots also.

My Momma also told me I could catch it by hand
AND
Don't be afraid to hold it...
{like I was?}
She asured me that it would not bite...
But also avised to keep my finger out of it's mouth?
Just in case....

The next morning we had a bunny.
WOOT WOOT
The Hubs went and took him about 6 blocks away...
To a nice creek and park area.

Now to get the trap back out for number two.
Number two now has a name....
 Peter
{or little $hit}
kind of depends on who ya ask...

He has also eaten a half package of baby carrots.
He loves him some carrots.
I had to go get more yesterday!

Peter is so tiny, he doesn't trip the trap.
So every morning and evening...
and when ever I see the cage is empty....
I add 5-6 baby carrots.
I figured....
If I keep feeding him, he will eventually weigh enough
to trip the trap.

ALSO, by feeding him, he has left my flowers alone.

Peter is so tiny.
And fluffy.
And cute.
He eats every morning...
He will sit about 2 feet from the cage
while I put in more carrots...
Then hop right in and eat them.

Then he sleeps in the morning sun with a full belly.

Hopefully we can catch the little $hit Peter soon.
There is a sweet family down the road that wants to take care of him.
I am all for that.
I actually felt guilty coming to work today....
He so expects me to keep that trap full of carrots for him.

PS:  Don't forget to go up to the tab that says "Sweet Readers" and add your blog/pic/button! Those peeps that do... well, those are the blogs I stalk read first each day :)

Fun & Games

If you live in Oklahoma, you will TOTALLY understand this post.
If you live elsewhere....
You will think I am totally nutso. {I am but that is beside the point}

Here in "the metro" we have been pumped with "be weather ready" tonight and FOR SURE tomorrow night.

This is how a true Oklahoma person will be handling this little situation....
We will have lawn chairs set up in the drive way----
about 5 feet from the cellar door.
We will have the garage tv on....
watching the weather.
And watching the actual skies...
Drinking
and
Smoking
Don't judge...

Gary England is a weather man for a local TV station.
He is a FAMOUS weather man.
We have a game we play when we watch him...
goes a little something like this.

Gary England Drinking Game
Pregame

1. Everyone selects a storm chaser other than Val Castor. Every time Gary talks to your storm chaser, you take one drink. Take two drinks every time we see footage from your storm chaser. Take four drinks if your storm chaser says "tornado on the ground."

2. Everyone selects a county other than Pottawatomie County. Every time Gary mentions your county, you take one drink. Take two drinks every time we see footage from your county. Take four drinks if a tornado touches down in your county.

One drink

1. Take one drink every time Gary says the following:

"Hook echo"
"Updraft"
"Metro"
"Doppler radar"
"Wall cloud"
"Ranger 9"
"Underground"
"Mobile home"

2. When Gary gives a list of counties, take one drink for every county in the list.

3. Take one drink every time Gary interrupts a program. Take one drink if Gary says "You're not missing any of [program name]." Take one drink when Gary says "We'll keep you advised."

Two drinks

1. Take two drinks every time Gary says the following:

"Baseball-sized hail"
"Waterloo Road"
"Pottawatomie County"
"Deer Creek High School"

2. Take two drinks every time Gary mentions the following towns:

Altus
Burns Flat
Dill City
Gotebo
Hydro
Lookeba
Meeker
Mulhall
Oktaha
Olustee
Shattuck
Slaughterville
Tryon
Vici
Waukomis
Wayne (or Payne)
Weleetka
Wetumkah
YES - we have awesome town names in our state

3. Take two drinks every time Gary talks to Val Castor.

Three drinks

1. Take three drinks if we see footage from Val Castor.
2. Take three drinks if we see footage from Pottawatomie County.
3. Take three drinks if Gary mentions the following:

"Immediate tornado precautions"

"National Weather Service"

"Mesocyclone"

"Portable Radio"

"Take shelter"

"Tornado warning in effect until ..."

Four drinks

1. Take four drinks if Ranger 9 must land to refuel.

2. Take four drinks if Gary issues his own tornado warning, not recognized by the NWS or says the following:
"Will someone please answer that phone?"
"Do you see power flashes?"
3. Take four drinks if a shirt-less tornado victim is interviewed.

Finish your drink
1. Finish your drink if someone uses the word tornado as a verb or if Gary mentions the nearest cross streets to you.
2. If Gary says "We've lost Val," pour a little out for your homies and finish your drink.

Basically, you are totally schanizzled by the time you have to get into your shelter....
It's totally better that way!

PS: OK... this is already getting out of hand... The schools have the kids all rattled up now... I just got a phone call from Kobi - making sure she wouldn't get hailed on while driving home....
She also asked what she should do if there is a tornado while she is at work.   I better grab some more to drink on the way home.  It may be a long weekend.

REALLY PEEPS?

Who the heck puts a prom in the middle of tax season??
Is some one trying to give me a nervous breakdown?
Well, I survived...
What a tricky, chaotic, but fun mess!

Here's my favorite pic from
last Friday night!

The end is near...
I will be back soon!

Time for a Quickie....

Time for a quickie on the lunch break!
Going to join IA & Shawn for a little TTUT.

You should too...
I am totally counting down the days until
HELL
tax season is over.
I have been doing great on my snacking and eating this year.
I am proud to announce, I will not be going up another size this year...
Like I have been every year for the past 3 years.
When I quit teaching I was a size 2-4ish....
Each year the middle has expanded.
Only the middle now... How odd am I...
My arms, legs and ass don't gain any inches.
I now struggle to wear my 10's now.

This weekend we went to the Heat-Thunder Basketball game.
TOTAL FUN!
We met some friends at Toby Keith's to eat and hung out in bricktown for a bit.
I totally figured out how to make people not notice my belly fat/muffin top....
Just let the girls hang out a bit!
oh don't you go all judgemental on me now....
It is Instant MAGIC!
Nobody notices the muffin top...
OR the circles embedded under the eyes thanks to tax season....

I totally got into the game and forgot to take more pics....

But yup... we were close.

ONE MORE THING....
Before I go...
Some of you already have...
But please go vote again.
For TYLER ZANDER...
You can vote every day :)
You can see my post about him

On a Mission....

I am on a mission right now to help a local teen.
Well, local to where I grew up....

A television station in Oklahoma City gives away a "free ride" every year to a deserving teen.  It is a free car from a local dealership and a $25,000 college scholarship from a local bank.

Here is the link to the page for you to check it out....

I am asking all my bloggy friends to share however... facebook, blog or twitter...
But PLEASE go vote for Tyler Zander!

This young man lost a leg in a grain elevator accident, trying to save a coworker.... Here is his story from the Enid News & Eagle, written by Austin Prickett.

A full crowd was on hand Friday morning at Chisholm High School as Tyler Zander recalled Aug. 4, 2011 — a day that changed his life and that of another teen. Zander and Bryce Gannon both lost legs in a grain auger accident that day while working for Zaloudek Grain Co. in Kremlin. He presented his story and pictures to students, family and friends. Zander began the presentation by saying everyone seems to get the wrong idea about the accident.

“The lessons I have learned and the opportunities I have gained are so much more than a leg to me,” Zander said.

He said he remembers hearing Gannon yell out as he went into the auger, and after yelling to a co-worker to flip the emergency shut-off switch, Zander decided to help Gannon.“I just couldn’t stand there and watch,” Zander said. He then straddled the auger and began helping Gannon. Zander said he must have slipped in, because he soon felt himself pulled into the auger, too. The machinery was stopped, and paramedics and emergency responders were called in to the scene to extract the teens. Zander was stuck in the auger for an hour and 20 minutes. He said remembers seeing the bad expressions on the faces of emergency responders.
“That’s when I got calm,” Zander said. “I wasn’t worried. I kept thinking that I should be more worried.”As the emergency responders freed him, Zander described almost passing out from the pain. He was flown to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City and given a 50/50 chance of surviving the accident. Zander suffered a split pelvis, multiple infections and a tear in his bladder. “My trauma surgeon told me my split pelvis was the worst he had ever seen,” Zander said. Though Zander said he felt hopeless at times, he stuck to a motto he heard from a fellow amputee: One more thing, one more time.“I was told I would be in the hospital for a year, but after two and a half months, I came home,” he said. Zander, who had been told he would be in a wheelchair for an extended period of time, is walking with the aid of crutches. “It was a reawakening at 17 years old. I realized I wasn’t in control of everything,” Zander said. One of the things he takes the most joy from is meeting with fellow amputees and helping them with their problems.“If this didn’t happen, I would have been someone who found happiness in the wrong things,” Zander said. Prior to the presentation, the crowd sang to Zander in celebration of his 18th birthday, which was Friday.Zander ended the presentation on an upbeat note.

“It’s not what you see,” he said, “it’s how you see it.”

Now, here are some other links if you would like to see stories about this that was in the news.
Here are some pictures the local news paper posted that were taken by Cass Rains.

This is the story of his homecoming

Did you follow all that?
If you are still here reading...
I THANK YOU!!!
Now PLEASE go vote for Tyler Zander!
AND
Please share!!!!

HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY

OH HAPPY DAYS...
I love my job during tax season!
You  learn what you are really made off...

Just thought I would stop in and say HI on my tiny little lunch break!
AND
Share a few things of course....

I LOVE my droid and would never think of using an iPhone...
I was always frustrated though about screen shots...
THEN, one night, on a casino run....
A friend told me how...
OF course, I had to inform my child...
Yup... that was a fail...
Score one for the phone.

During tax season sometimes things tend to get neglected...
like the nails...

YUCK!
I may or may not just slap another coat of paint over the chipping to get by....

BUT HEY...
That leaves time for this!

OMG!  I AM IN LOVE!
Don't dig the yellow lemonade...
But the PINK.
TO DIE FOR!

Plus they help calm the nerves after a stressful HOA meeting....
OH did I mention that?
You are now looking at one of the newest HOA board members in our hood.
Well, I start on April 1st.
Proving to be very trying already....
There always has to be ONE turd in the punch bowl...

Stalking your blogs...
I see many have become addicted to
Draw Something.
ANOTHER LOVE
and destresser...
When I first started playing...
Not many people I knew played.
So I chose to play random people.

I found out.... apparently... Kyle D. thinks I am a milf.
This made me smile...
and laugh
ALOT!
But I decided, that since he did not know the meaning between "your" and "you're"... it would never work out.

I love getting those words...
You know...
The ones like "PEE"

 OR
"bird"

LOVE IT!

You want another person to draw with???
Let me know in the comments
and I will gladly draw with ya!

OK.... time to get back to work!
See ya'll in a few more weeks!

VOMIT

Pardon me while I vomit 10 million and 3 different things in your lap....

Thank you to a few who have sent emails and messages to me...
just checking in to so if I was still alove and breathing.
I am in HELL tax season and will return to bloggy world full time in mid april.

Until then I promise to pop in from time to time...
I am stalking you all still and reading what is going on...

I am linking up today with Shawn and IA...
Joining the TTUT...
Go check them out...
You don't know what you are missing.

I think the last time I blogged...
We just wrapped up the car issues.
During the whole deal...
The hubs and the GM were talking...
The Hubs ended up with this...

*sigh*

I was talking to a friend last night....
We were talking about the lack of a winter.
Seriously... it has been so freakin' warm here...
Spring Allergies are going to kick my arse!
But .... I saw this on thew news this morning...

SWEET!!

You may notice YET ANOTHER look about the ol' blog...
I liked the last design...
but it just was not what I was looking for.
I have been slowly getting things taken care of...
It will all be in place by the time mid april arrives.
3 month blog make over anyone?

I will be starting Fun with Friends Friday at that time....
It will be a fun little follow along....
More details when we get closer...

The Hubs scored tickets to a Sunday(my only day off right now) Thunder game next month...
YEAH!
Center court....
5th row up...
Free...
YES PLEASE!

Alrighty... the lunch break is ending...
so the blog post must also end...
Short lunch today. - leaving early today.
Must take teenage Mario Andretti wannabe Kobi to appear before the judge today.
Ya know... to beg and pleade  for mercy...
To hopefully get that speeding ticket defferred...
and not on her record.
Or she will not be able to afford her insurance.
*SIGH*

POO POO POO

WELL POO!!
It's that time again folks.
The time where I randomly disappear for days - weeks at a time.
Don't leave me.
Don't break up...
I need the love and support.
You see, it is nearing tax season.
Those 10 weeks a year I work 56-60 hours a week.

Tasty on Thursday has gone away until April.
There is no way I can keep it going during tax season...
I just never know when I will have time to blog....

I have been having a hard time getting on to blog.
We have been dealing with a car issue.
IT was a good car.
Like New!
But then things happened....
Had a little damage to the bumper and radiator.
We took it to the body shop.
They failed to fix the mechanical side properly.
The car kept over heating and they could never find the issue.
Finally WE as in me and my Hubs figured out the problem...
They fixed it.
But it was to late.
The engine was cracked from overheating to much!

They replaced the engine...
They knew their mistakes.
I drove loaner cars...
Kobi drove mine.
BUT I ASK YOU....
They couldn't fix a fan motor properly or find a problem with an engine for 3 months...
Would you trust them putting in an engine in your car?
Point was proven when we "got the car back again" last Wednesday.
The hood was not even on straight...
Causing it not to latch properly.

They bought the car.
They gave me more than I paid for it.
Then offered us several options at a very good price.
Trying to make things right...
We bought this....

A little Jeep Patriot.

NO MORE CAR DRAMA!!

WOOT WOOT

TTUT

It's Talk To Us Tuesday....
You know...
That day you hook up and have fun with the girls...
You know.... IA and Shawn

Do it...
All the kewl kids are...

I am in a spiraling FUNK.
I would like to tell many people...
to just FUNK off.

You see this sign?
I think it is worded incorrectly.
It should say:
"Drive Thru - We are going to FUNK You Parking"
You are taking your chances by going to a drive thru....
HOWEVER
If you get pulled into one of these babies???
You are screwed.
PERIOD

IF ONE MORE PERSON OPENS MY OFFICE DOOR WITHOUT KNOCKING... I AM GOING TO SCREAM.
Seriously....
I am on my lunch hour.
This is my time.
Stop barging in to ask me questions.

On a good note.... the dealership...
The one that messed up my daughter's car???
YUP
They finally received a brand new engine to put in her car.
Now I can't decide if I want to sell the car and find her something else...
Or just keep it.
I am afraid it is going to be a continuous problem.

OH... I guess that is all I have...
Because well lunch is over...
*SIGH*

Dear Weekend....

Dear Weekend,

You Sucked.

I totally did not have the quiet at home weekend that I had longed for.
I wanted to clean out my cabinets, organize, de-clutter and deep clean.
Every OCD person's dream!

Didn't happen.

Saturday the Hubs and I took off to go eat lunch at a nearby casino....
We got up and was out the door by 9am on Saturday.
We got home only to turn around and leave again...
We didn't get home until 10:30ish that night.

Sunday was the day I ran errands...
And I actually had time to sweep and mop.
But that is it.

A weekend full of running around.
I hate having to go somewhere every stinking weekend...
Or having something to do.

I want to do NOTHING.
Just once.
OK?
Please?

Thanks,
Chell

Friday Free For All

Do you ever have like 10 million and one things on your mind?
Does it just plain piss ya off...
Like it does me?

By the way... I have a new little button over there on the left.
Feel free to copy and share on your page....
Or update....
It's whatevs

NOW, look up top in my header...
I have a recipe box up there.
It has all the recipes I post.
In one easy place!
You will also find my FAV peeps up there also in the tabs.
I am actually planning on working on that page this weekend....

I just want to relax...
I want to do NOTHING!
Like that is ever really going to happen.

I am letting a situation eat at me...
One that really shouldn't.
But it does.
Someone who is 18-19 years old.
Someone who has had a ROUGH life.
Like parents in jail...
Fostered out....
Sister the same age with 2 little kids...
You think she is doing great...
Then she makes a bad choice.
Now, I am not talking hair color bad choice...
Or... wore the wrong shoes bad choice.
I am talking shoplifting from a store in the mall.
Last night she posted pictures drinking in a bar/restaurant.
With a friend.
REALLY?
Stop saying oh my life is horrible...
Stop saying I am young and going to make mistakes.
She is totally going to end up in jail like many of her family members.
It sucks.
Those are not mistakes.
Those are STUPID choices PERIOD.

I really want take off work early today.
Go do the weekly grocery shopping...
Then barricade myself in the house.
Not leave the whole weekend.
Clean out and organize closets and cabinets.
Dump drawers out on the floor...
Just plain get it all together.

I am ready for Monday night.
It's bowling night.
YES I am a fruitcake who bowls.
We are going to be crowned MID League CHAMPS this Monday night.
There is no way we can loose our spot.
We ROCK.

Kobi's car is in the shop.
STILL
They can not find an engine for her car.
It's on them.
They are taking care of the bill.
BUT HELLO
We have not had a working car since end of SEPTEMBER.
I do like the jeep I am driving at their expense...
But I just want this all to be over!

Tax season.
It is almost here.
As soon as I blink...
I will loose 2.5 months of my life.
POOF out the door.
However, I will gain about 4 weeks paid time off.

OK....
I am done boring you with a long post and no pics.

Have a great weekend!

Talk Time

So I am joining IA and Shawn....
Linking up with Talk to Us Tuesday...
But this is Wednesday.
I am a day late.
I know.
It's just how I have to roll sometimes.

I don't have much going on right now.
Just work.
WORK.
And more WORK.
It's that time of year ya know.
The time that I go into hiding until April 15.
Booo

I will still be bringing you Tasty on a Thursday....
Yup that's tomorrow.
If you post a recipe any time this week...
Please share.
There will be a place to link up!
Easy stuff!

The weather has been wonderful.

70 degrees during December?  Yup I'll take it.
But I know the cold/snow is going to hit hard.
I am ready.
Not really.

Just Dance 3
It's been a big hit at our place.

This Kobi and her Boyfriend....
We had just broken the game out of the wrapper....
He had never played before...
She lost.
The competitive side took over...
She didn't loose again.
LOL

While off on Christmas Break...
Kobi had time to be creative.

Not a good pic... but she does an awesome leopard print and can get pretty cool designs going.

I am not one for New Year's Resolutions....
BUT
I have decided....
I need to start drinking more alcohol water.
I even got an adorable glass to keep at work...
Hoping that would help.
LOL
I have got to stop drinking so much pop.
I was drinking at least 6-8 cans a day....
PLUS
If I grabbed lunch or breakfast out...
A cup full of pop got added in the mix.
Not to mention the occasional Big Gulps.

Do you make resolutions for the New Year?
If so...
How often do you actually follow through?

Sunday, January 1, 2012

HAPPY 2012

Happy 2012 Peeps!
Please don't hate or unfollow for my horrid bloggy buddy ways this past week.
I love ya....
It has just been a horrible ROUGH week.
Now we are slowly recovering from the weekend.
No hangover...
Just exhaustion.
5 day Stomach bug + Party at our place = A day of NOTHING!

Now.... Let's talk New Year's Eve and the people of Walmart that attended.
Seems there was alot of the stomach bug going around, family emergencies and upper respiratory infections.
Made for a small and low key turn out...
Maybe 20 this year.

Made lots of Goodies....
You can find the recipe for the buffalo chicken dip and the chipotle ranch dip up top by clicking on my recipe box....
The other recipes will be coming soon in the weekly posts of Tasty on Thursdays.

A people of walmart party is not complete without trash can punch and red solo cups...

We rocked in the new year with this fellow....
I have NO clue who invited him.
Silly party crasher...
We had a karaoke set up, thanks to my brother and his toys...
It was complete with strobe lights and all sorts of flashy light...
We decided no to the fog machine...
JoyKill... I know.
This was pretty much a group event, as NOBODY was drunk enough to sing alone....
AND
Some never even made it in to "group sing".
They stayed in the man cave watchin' sports and shooting pool.

Jasper seemed to enjoy himself...
He had NO CLUE the silliness we did to him...
The Hubs n I had fun planning out our costumes....
OH MY!  Just totally realized he had a beer in both hands....
LOL
Something cool about having a New Year's Eve party at our place is that we always have friends over to celebrate our Anniversary.
Yup, January 1st.
So we never say Happy New Year...
It's always Happy Anniversary.
See these folk?
It's the same for them.
They are WAY ahead of us though...
They are on number 35
We be falling behind at number 8.

So how did you bring in 2012?
