OOPS!

So, it has been so long since I last posted. Almost 2 weeks. WOW! I did not mean for that to happen, it just did. Why is it, the older we get the faster time passes? Things have been crazy busy around here, but that's normal.

My jaw surgery went fine. I went back for my one week check up only to find out that I have to wear a splint in my mouth at least until January 6th. I have lost 20 lbs and gone from a size 10 slacks to a size 4 or 6 in two weeks time. It's crazy. I am restricted to only food that I don't have to chew. Soup, slim fast, pasta, and potatoes have been my main staples. I did manage to get a cheese enchilada down tonight. I have got to figure out something soon though, I don't want to loose any more weight.

Thanksgiving has came and gone. I did my usual thing and cooked for both Kyle's family, as well as my own. It was soooooo hard to cook things and not be able to eat them... kind of like rubbing salt in an open wound. Aside from the fact that I couldn't eat much, I think we had fun... all 26 of us :) I did figure out that I could mix pumpkin pie (w/o crust) and cool whip to eat. MMMMMMMM

I also got to enjoy my great nephew on Thanksgiving. He is the funniest, cutest little guy! Kobi loved entertaining him. He is getting ready to have a new brother a few days after Christmas. I am sad that we won't get to see him/ them again for a while.

While home for Thanksgiving, I also was able to put out all the Christmas decorations. I love decorating for the holidays! Kyle got up on the roof and put out the new lights. This year we went with all red LED lights. I hope they last a while. The last set of lights only lasted a few years.

We also had to say good bye to our dear friends, washer and dryer. They were not totally dead, but they were about to give out at any given moment. We made the decision to go ahead and replace them with front loaders. Smack me for what I am about to say.....but I am liking doing laundry now. Okay, not the folding and putting away part, so the hubs is still taking care of that for me :)

The second job (scentsy) went CRAZY during November. It was a full time second job. I am thinking it was mainly due to the holidays coming up and everyone wanting to get their Christmas gifts purchased. I have made two long trips (4-6 hours total drive time) to host parties for people. I am actually getting to drive up to my hometown this weekend (2 hours away) to do another party. I am kind of excited that I will hopefully get to see some familiar faces this time around.

So, I guess now it is time to get back to my evening routine and continue to try to catch up on things. Hope everyone's Thanksgiving was wonderful!

Really? The Food Network?

I am totally lame. I know it. I have been reading ya'll blogs - YES I am from Oklahoma AND YES I say ya'll. I just haven't had the extra time to comment. I am a drive by blog reader.... or would that be a "click-by" instead of a drive - by?

I have been running my rear off trying to get things done before my surgery today. I am now reduced to having a LIST that I really do hope I can finish before Saturday evening. I did take off today for the procedure and Thursday and Friday to recoup.

Last night we went and had a great meal again at Louie's with our friends. Good times AND good food! Was truly my last good meal for 6 weeks. The surgery went very quick and was not as bad as I thought. They had a little problem putting me under... LOL Evidently I take more anesthesia than a person my size would normally need. I now have to wear this splint thing in my mouth. I can talk. LIQUID/extremely soft foods only.... nothing I have to chew up. - for six weeks.

After my surgery, Kyle and I ran to academy. Kyle had to get peanut oil to fry up the turkeys next week. I stumbled along pushing the cart. Someone really should of pulled my cart over, it was obviously that I was driving my cart under the influence. I ended up buying 2 pairs of shoes, a pair of wind pants, and a wind suit. UMMMM at least I THINK I did...I found them in my room by my purse later on during the day....it really is still a blur...

We then went to Walmart to fill my prescription. They said over an hour to fill, so we bought something, I don't even remember what, and left. I did go back to walmart tonight and picked up all the things on my list that I needed.

Once home I ate what everyone would want for their first meal after surgery -- Pea Soup! MMMMMM I also guzzled a Dr Pepper or two ... maybe three. I hurt, but I am not that sore... but it does hurt.(I have been told by many doctors that I have an extremely high pain tolerance) I went and visited my neighbor this afternoon ( and ONE of the most adorable babies in the world) and took her some scentsy stuff. Less than 4 hours after surgery I was out selling scentsy and scheduling parties... THAT is so SAD! For supper I had a slim fast and mashed potatoes. (OH YEAH! - Slim Fast is one of the items we purchased at walmart this morning)

I am having issues remembering things for a few hours after my surgery. Yes, yes I am.

HOWEVER...I do know that my the phone call asked me to be there at 9:15. I do know that I could not have anything to eat 8 hours before my surgery. The Oral Surgery Center that I went to had these wonderful big screen tv's to watch while we waited an hour for me to go back... we caught a full hour of some guys cooking show. REALLY? ARE YOU THAT FREAKING CRAZY? Come on people... you are already torturing us by not being able to eat AND by cutting on us...THEN you want us to sit and watch the food network while we wait? My stomach was growling so bad by surgery time.

REALLY?

Really? Seriously? Is it Monday?
The weekend just happened? I missed it I guess.
Today we are back to rainy and drizzly PLUS cold. What a way to start the week.

I received a couple of emails today… They made me laugh. I thought I would share.

A nice, calm and respectable lady went into the pharmacy, walked up to the pharmacist, looked straight into his eyes, and said, "I would like to buy some cyanide."

The pharmacist asked, "Why in the world do you need cyanide?"

The lady replied, "I need it to poison my husband."

The pharmacist's eyes got big and he exclaimed, "Lord have mercy! I can't give you cyanide to kill your husband.. That's against the law! I'll lose my license! They'll throw both of us in jail! All kinds of bad things will happen. Absolutely not! You CANNOT have any cyanide!"

The lady reached into her purse and pulled out a picture of her husband in bed with the pharmacist's wife.

The pharmacist looked at the picture and replied, "Well now, that's different. You didn't tell me you had a prescription."

Things children say…
A certain little girl, when asked her name, would reply, “I’m Mr. Sugarbrown’s daughter.” Her mother told her that was wrong and she must say, “I’m Jane Sugarbrown.” The next day someone spoke to her and asked, “Aren’t you Mr. Sugarbrown’s daughter?” She replied, “ I thought I was, but mommy says I’m not.”

THE WINNER & LOST MY MIND

We drew names out of a cup and the LUCKY winner of the Scentsy Plug-In System is HEIDI over at From 3 to 5 Congrats Heidi!! Please contact me at my email address in my right column. A big thank you to all that entered. I will do some more giveaways I am sure.

It has been a few days since I have last posted. Life is just crazy busy! I have a full time job and the scentsy is now turning into a second full time job. Tomorrow I am making a 2 hour & 15 minute drive to do a home party for someone. I think I have lost my mind.

I was up and showered on a Saturday morning - then out of the house by 8:15am today. We went to purchase new Christmas lights. We had to hit several stores to find the right ones and also to get enough. My husband has started putting up the lights, it is a two days process (at least). I CAN NOT believe I used my only day to sleep in and got up and went shopping. I think I have lost my mind.

Teenage years are GRRRRRR. I got a phone call from one of Kobi's teachers. She dropped the F bomb in Spanish Class. This kid in her class messes with her just about everyday until she snaps. The teacher told me she told him to shut the F up. She did punish the other student too. AND from what I understand, she may have spoke it Spanish and well, the teacher knew what she said....I think I am loosing my mind.

Today I was digging in the draw for some tongs. I picked up a few items so I could have a better view. I got frustrated because I couldn't find the tongs in the drawer. HHHMMMM they were in my hand. I think I am loosing my mind.

I was talking to my mother on the phone last night. GOD BLESS her retired self with tooo much time on her hands. We were talking and making sure all my aunts and uncles and relatives had places to go thanksgiving.

MOM- Why would you want to add more people, you already cook for 35-40 people?

ME- What is a few more at that point, we have the room AND I don't want anyone home by themselves on a holiday.

MOM- It wouldn't hurt my feelings to stay home by myself on a holiday.

ME- Are you crazy? Have you lost your mind?

MOM- UM NO WHY?

ME - Ten minutes ago you told me you were tired of sitting at home and wished you could be on the go more.

MOM- *laughing* OH

ME-SO what is it? Do you want to sit at home by yourself, or go somewhere?

MOM-You're confusing me....

I am loosing my mind....

Last night at 11:30pm I was working on the computer. My daughter came out of her room and asked what I was still going up? Apparently she thinks I am never up that late? Anyhow, I informed her that just because she goes to bed early, doesn't mean that I do... She just doesn't realize I am up, because she is sleeping. She didn't believe me...I am loosing my mind.

Get the point?
I AM LOOSING MY MIND!
TOTAL CRAZINESS!!

The Last Supper

This was SO not the "last Supper" that you know about. This was my last supper for SIX weeks.
SIX weeks. HOOOOOLY SCHMOOOOOLLY ---- SIX WEEKS! AND Not by choice! (well maybe kind of)

Anyhow, our friend Bob (his wife was out of town) met The Hubs, Kobi, and Me at one of my favorite places to eat -- Louie's! Oh their wraps are just totally to die for.... and the fried green beans, oh and the chips and salsa.... AND you can not get out of there without eating their fries... MMMMMMMM If you are EVER in the Oklahoma City area... I strongly recommend, it's not fine dining, just a "sports bar" bar type of place that is geared more toward the family type of atmosphere. (I have no issues taking a child there-so really not a sports "bar" to me) Anyhow, it's good - try it if you are ever in town...

SO, I am writing this post with a TOTALLY FULL belly on Tuesday night. (not posting it til Wednesday though)

I ate at my favorite place Tuesday night because I am having a surgery done on my jaw Wednesday morning. I am so totally thankful that my jaw will not have to be wired shut for 6 weeks, HOWEVER, I will have to wear a splint at all times, and it does not allow me to eat normally. I have somehow, torn and/or moved the disc in my jaw and they need to repair that and clean out the left joint of the jaw. FUN! They told me soft foods only. I tried to eat soft foods (noodles) the other day with the splint in my mouth...I nearly choked and gagged to death! Seriously, it is going to be soup and protein shakes.

I was recently asked, why don't you just use a blender or food processor to mash the food and then eat it. Alright folks, seriously, I was so over that by the time I turned 1. The thought alone is enough to make me gag.

So, if you do not see me around, or hear from me.... Sorry, I don't know when I will make it back to the computer. Who knows, I may blog hop around and leave totally random comments on all of your blogs....I am telling you now, in advance.... So sorry, it was the meds that made me say it...

T he million dollar question in the house that my daughter is asking ( I am sure the Hubs is thinking, but will NOT ask) ---Are you ready?

"Hey Mom? So how long do we have before you will be able to speak again?"

My child LOVES me!

PS: The giveaway is still going on... I am donating from my "side job". It is such great stuff, I just have to share it with you... ANYHOW, go back to this post to ENTER.

UPDATE- So I am a complete idiot... We got to the appointment to have the surgery AND my mouth splint was at home on the dresser.... Totally had to reschedule... So next Wednesday, I will be having my surgery... disregard the whole last supper thing... it was all a hoax to get our friends to go eat with us. Also, I didn't want to cook... In honor of my rotten day, I leave you with this.

My forgetter's getting better,

But my rememberer is broke

To you that may seem funny

But, to me, that is no joke

For when I'm 'here' I'm wondering

If I really should be 'there'

And, when I try to think it through,

I haven't got a prayer!

Oft times I walk into a room,

Say 'what am I here for?

'I wrack my brain, but all in vain!

A zero, is my score.

At times I put something away

Where it is safe, but, Gee!

The person it is safest from

Is, generally, me!

When shopping I may see someone,

Say 'Hi' and have a chat,

Then, when the person walks away

I ask myself, 'who the **** was that?

Yes, my forgetter's getting better

While my rememberer is broke,

And it's driving me plumb crazy

And that isn't any joke.

I've Been Tagged

So, I've been tagged! Samantha over at Apple Juice and Milk tagged me, and I thought it would be fun to continue the process! As part of the "tagging" process, Samantha, who was tagged by Theta Mom, has asked that I write 5 experiences that have helped shape me into a Theta Mom (a true, authentic Mom), and then tag some other, really AWESOME theta moms! So, here it goes, here are 5 experiences that have molded and shaped me into a Theta Mom.

1. My Dad passed away when I was 7 years old. My Mom is so awesome and was able to raise all 3 of her kids on her own. She always worked non-stop to get things done and we always had what we needed AND wanted. I believe seeing her strength as a child is why I am so stubborn and pig-headed why I take charge and get the job done. I can't stop until the project is complete.

2.I was a single parent for a while and I was not afraid. I did what I had to do, to make sure my baby girl had everything in the world! -*sigh* and now she is spoiled rotten! I don't think I ever had a second thought about being a single parent...I was use to only having one parent, but under different circumstances.

3. I dropped out of college my first time around, after the first semester. Once I learned that I was pregnant and would have to "be responsible"... I not only went to school full-time, but I also worked. I felt guilty about leaving my child...but I had to do something to make a better life for us. I ended up getting my degree in Early Childhood Education so I could maybe have a better understanding of why my child did certain things and how I could teach the right things as she grew.

4. I was that over-bearing, over-protective mother. As an infant, anytime my child went outside she had her ears covered... I followed the charts on what and when to feed her certain foods... I was constantly wiping her face and hands.., She always had on BIG bows and if her outfit was dirty, it was changed immediately. (I can say she was RARELY sick & did not have an ear infection until she was almost 2) Yes, I know that was OCD, but at the time, I wanted to make sure I was doing everything right!

5. My daughter is a teenager now and OH HOW TIMES ARE ROUGH! When there are troubles, I smack my child around really try to follow the behavior back to the source. It's not easy at all - but I try to have an understanding of what my child is going through and what is causing the behavior. (good or bad)

I have shared with you just 5 of the many experiences I have had, that have helped shape me into a theta mom, now please grab this tag and share with all of us, your experiences. Make sure you tag others as well!

You Did What?

And here is how it MIGHT have gone...

911-"911 what is your emergency?"

caller - I need help

911- help with what?

caller - we just had an accident

911 - is everyone alright?

caller - the car is damaged, the family is ok.... however, the elephant may need some help

REALLY NOW.... or it may have gone like this....

Random guy - I need to file a claim on my insurance

Insurance agent - ok, what is your claim?

Random guy - I had an auto accident

Insurance agent - With another auto or single car accident?

Random guy - Single car accident.... with an elephant

Insurance agent - I hear that all the time... what really happened?

OK all kidding aside.

Can you imagine, driving home from church and WHAM car hits elephant in the road. Seriously, an elephant. What a story! I don't believe anyone was seriously injured and the elephant is basically ok. I know it is serious, but I crack up every time I think of it. I can't stop laughing! I feel for the family AND the elephant. To read the actual news article you can click HERE.

PS - I want to say thank you to all my crazy readers... I am excited to have hit a milestone today. Well, it's a milestone to me at least and it makes me feel special... I hit 20 followers today. YEAH! I know that is not a lot to some, but to me it is... Thanks to everyone for reading my totally random "JUNK" about my crazy life/family...

PS again - When I hit 25 followers I may do something crazy like a giveaway.... WOOT WOOT so keep watching, I am sure it will happen eventually :)

PS one last time - YES an actual ELEPHANT!

Glowing

I just spent $600 on a splint for my mouth...to keep it open. All this time, my hubs tries to get me to shut it and here I go buying something to keep it open...

I really didn't by this nasty little mouth piece because I wanted it. You see, I have been having this horrid jaw issue and well it is resulting in surgery on NEXT Wednesday. Bad part: Surgery & $600 splint/mouth piece Good part: Only $42 out of pocket for surgery AND a few days off of work that I don't HAVE to do anything.

My whole "new business venture" is REALLY taking off. I have discovered that shipping is pretty cheap on party baskets, so I have been sending them off to friends and they have been doing SCENTSY basket parties for me. I have started a blog plus I also have a website that people can order from.

As with most teenagers, life is a struggle at times. I am happy to say that my daughter has seemed to have a good last month... Good grades, no missing homework, no major issues, good behavior, good attitude (mostly) and she has gotten back involved in her church youth group. She even helped CLEAN at the house. I about fell over dead! Now if those boys would just leave her alone, it would be perfect.

This weekend my friends (hubby & wife) are having a 40th birthday party. I am getting the honor of making the cake for the luau. I have a million and one thoughts of what I should do...

I am also glowing today because I feel so honored! I am actually a Featured Friend, over on Our B Life, and would like to send a big THANK YOU over that way! Our B Life is a great blog that I have ended up reading on a regular basis and I enjoy every minute of it... I bet you would too. :) Go check it out...

Halloween Fun

OH MY GOODNESS! Busy as a bee are wee! Halloween is over. Crazy CRAZY times! Jasper dressed up as a little bee this year. He was sweet as usual. I usually sit out side to pass out candy. Doorbell+blind dog = running into walls + barking in the wrong direction. I just didn't want him to face that humiliation.

Walking around in circles outside...

OK, This is getting on my nerves....

Nope, I am done... no more pictures...

We had a mini cookout Saturday evening. The weather was WONDERFUL! A few friends came over and then it was football time, wait no it was trick or treat time....Kobi left with a group of friends to go roam the neighborhood. We turned on 4 tv's in the garage. Yes, my hubby does have the ultimate man cave. 4 tv's, a pool table, dart board and a fridge. They had the OU Sooners on one tv, the OSU cowboys on another, the world series on another and even had ghost hunters on too. MANY MANY men stopped in our garage that night to catch the scores and drool over the set up.

I hope our neighbor doesn't mind me posting this. He does such a GREAT job every year on scaring the kids and being spooky. Another reason why I set outside to pass out candy... it's a wonderful show. I laughed so hard this year that at times I about wet myself. The greatest was the last group and watching the girl do a backwards summersault and she was trying to get away....

Above is his daughter giggling because she knows he is back there...
Normal looking porch - Yes? Under the plant and pumpkins on the left is actually a 5ft deep whole that our neighbor hid in for the entire night. He covered the hole with wood, then mulch, then placed the plant back on top. Looked like nothing was out of place! He also built a fake portion of the step and covered it with cement. Through this he could reach up into the bottom of the candy dish and grab whoever was getting the candy. An air tank also was his friend in the hole. He would blast the kiddos and scare them. He could see who was coming up and would try not to frighten the little ones. The adults however.... they were fair game.

There he is.... so clever as can be!
Below I loaded a small video and you will see him testing it out on one of his children.
PS - no children were harmed, well physically hurt at least *smile*
