One of Those Days....

Ever have one of those days weeks...

The last few days have week has been a bit much for me between work and life in general.

Last night I get this phone call:

K:Moommmiiieeeeeee?

M:Yes Kobi?

K:(sobbing)Can you come get me?

M:Why?

K:I wrecked my car and I am scared to drive home.

Not something you want to hear. But all is just fine.  Not even a fender bender... just a let's exchange paint situation. There was a girl in front of my daughter at a red light.... Light turned green, she(girl in front) took off, phone rang, dropped phone and hit brakes picking it up.... Kobi did not react fast enough and hit her.

Work has been super dooper busy lately. I couldn't find a clip or a bobby pin in my purse the other day.  So I used a paper clip.

I totally forgot to take it out before I left for home.  Of course the elevator stopped on each floor to pick up another person.  Nobody commented on it though...

Totally remembered it once I was in the car....  Totally a trend setter....

My neighbor has a new set of twins....

I don't care for them though.

Look at that huge a&# creepy thing!  ICK!

Bad enough there is one monster... but TWO?  DOUBLE ICK!

Over The Weekend

So, over the weekend we had a little fun. 

 FOOTBALL

Yes it started again! 

We had to have a party...

Also, was the perfect time to kill 2 birds with

on stone and celebrate my birthday.

I am a theme person... so this ended up as

The White Trash Bash.

A few didn't dress up.... a few did.

My Sister-n-law and her nephew were the best

The wigs got hot and eventually had to come off.

"the nephew" had the wig on his arm.

I so thought he had went and got my dog out of the house!

I am very protective over my little blind 13 1/2 year old dog!

We had some friends that are a little "behind"...

They had no clue what planking or owling was...

We had to demonstrate.

I have decided, planking is not for those with a larger chest. - You can never really get flat!

WORDLESS WEDNESDAY - the morning drive....

Beef Enchiladas

Because I have not posted one of my recipes in a while...


What you need:1 lb hamburger
1 pkg taco seasoning
1 pkg flour tortillas (soft taco size)
1/2 cup water
1 lb Velveeta cheese
1 can rotel
1 can refried beans
2  cans enchilada sauce
1 onion (chopped)
1 pkg grated cheddar cheese


Instructions
1. Brown hamburger and 1/2 of the chopped onion in a skillet.
2. Drain grease, add taco seasoning and water.
3. Simmer until the mixture thickens.
4. In a microwave dish, put chopped Velveeta cheese and rotel and heat until Velveeta is completely melted into cheese sauce.
5. In a small microwave-safe bowl, heat refried beans.
6. Take tortilla and spoon refried beans over the middle. Spoon meat mixture over the beans. Spoon cheese sauce over meat.
7. Roll tortilla up and place in a greased baking pan. Repeat process as long as meat, bean and cheese mixtures exist.
8. Pour enchilada sauce over rolled tortillas making sure to cover all of the tortilla. Place grated cheese over the top of the tortillas.
9. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.

Well, maybe I already did last night....

Working full time at a stressful job, then come home to cook and have to deal with moving entire rooms around.  I am just wore smooth out!

I can say all 3 bedrooms are now sporting new wood laminate.

 (did I mention the hubs just started this on Monday?) 

Kobi expressed she would like her room purple....

Glad I did, it looks so much better.

Now, to move the rest of the stuff back into the office/spare room. UGH!

Why Wait?

Where we live, trying to get anything done at the driving testing center is
CA CA CA RAYZEEEE!

Let me set the scene for you....

Line up at 6am at the door.

7am - You would think it was black Friday and they had $2 I Pads.... Everyone rushes in and tries to grab a number.

8am- They finally start calling people back. Line usually moves about the average 1 person every 10-15 minutes.

So you could be there for some time.  11am is the earliest I have ever been able to talk to someone there... Folks, that is like a 5 hour wait.  Then if you want to take your driving test?  Who knows if they will have any slots open that day. OH, and pray it doesn't start raining, because they do not test in the rain.(understandable) Or you could wait 5 hours to make an appointment to come back.... in 2 weeks.

Seriously, do you think I would make someone who is ready to get their license wait that long? You can not schedule the time... until they are eligible to set for the test.

SO- We got up and drove to my old stomping grounds....

Kobi did this....

We got to Enid and walked in the testing center a little after 9am.  Guess what?   There was NO BODY there!!! We walked up and she went and drove.

Yup - She passed with a 91! 

He said that was his first score in the 90's in about a month....

YEAH! -LOOK OUT WORLD!!

Do you ever just wish time would STOP or maybe just slow down a little?

We have so many things going on... It is total INSANITY I tell ya!

Because I never have enough to do, I decided to tear out a flower bed in the front yard and use the bricks to make a cool fire pit on the deck.  It was LATE by the time I got done.

We purchased this stuff.....

I can not tell you how happy I am.  We He is doing all 3 bedrooms while recovering from his surgery.

We also had a Birthday thing going on yesterday.... Someone turned 16.

We go tomorrow to take "THE DRIVING TEST"  - UGH!

Remember when I swore this was the last time I was redecorating Kobi's room? Well poooo she wants something else!  I was thinking that not even a year had past and how dare she!  Opppssss I guess it was in 09 and not 10.  Got the blog post as proof. SO this week we are turning the white into purple. At least it isn't something major.  But The hubs said that I HAVE to get it done before he puts in the new floors.

POOP.

Guess I will be painting this week.

Crickety Parts and Old Lady Farts

Nobody every said growing old was easy.  Every waking day there is another part of your body that starts to get crickety.  Just getting out of bed, you start to sound like a bowl of rice krispie treats.... snap, crackle and pop.  I think my knees are about the worst part- thanks to playing basketball. 

I have talked to the doctor.... really he says, that is normal... welcome to a normal part of aging.  Thanks Doc!  I don't need you poking fun at me getting older.  Anyhow, sound with no pain is fine.

The ol' body doesn't seem to want to stop there either... have you ever noticed how older people have no control over certain bodily functions? Have you ever been behind that elderly person that toots every time they take a step?  Or even better, when out in public and you HAVE to do the unthinkable and use a public potty....*GAG* The elderly I swear they can't pee without letting that toot slip out first. I used to think it was funny.

Not No More....

Sometimes at work I actually get to sit behind my desk for a while... I am not going to lie... When I do get up to do something, I am stiff and the crickety parts start singing their song.  So, here I go snap, cracklin' and popping all the way to the restroom.  It was rather chilly in the office and my knees were pretty stiff, then add those wonderful heels. I finally get into the stall and turn to sit, I strained enough trying to cop a squat... out came that old lady fart.  Thank GOODNESS nobody else was in there at the time.

I am getting old.

But not to old that I can't remember to flush the toilet now every time before I cop a squat..... the flushing noise drowns everything out...

I am in LOVE

I am totally not a TV watcher. Every once in a while, I will sit down and watch, but, definitely not that often. Well, with one exception.

This year has been good. I do not subscribe to the live feeds, but I have a website that I read what is going on in the house 24-7. It is always interesting to see what is REALLY going on and not edited by CBS. The bad thing is, you find out what happens in the house early and so the shows on Sunday and Wednesday are not surprising…. You already know the outcome.

Anyhow, here are my thoughts on the remaining players…..

I love Jeff & Jordan. Some say Jeff is a controlling maniac and is mean to Jordan…. I really don’t think so. I love watching Jeff & Jordan together, they are just ADORABLE.

Now Brendon & Rachel…. They have got to go. Seriously. I used to want them in the house, to help further Jeff & Jordan of course…. But not anymore. Jeff & Jordan helped Rachel while Brendon was gone… But Rachel is telling Brendon how horrible they were to her? SERIOUSLY! Just can’t stand those two anymore.

Danielle. She makes my blood boil. I used to like her, but not so much now. Dani and Kalia for that fact – Yep – fo shore got to go.

Porsche – Why is she still in the house? Really? What does she do? OOOOO that’s right, she is a friend of Janelle’s from a previous season. Get her out of the house already. I am tired of seeing her float to whatever side has the power for the week.

Adam – pretty much a floater…. HOWEVER… he has stepped up and almost won a few competitions. He may manage to float on up to the top.

Shelly… I like Shelly. But I think they keep her around, only because she does all the house work. Every morning, Momma gets up and cleans house. She seems to be with Jeff & Jordan… but you just really can’t tell.

Who are you cheering for????

Time...

There is never enough time in the day to do everything I want to do....

This week has been CRAZY busy.

This is how my week started off....

The Hubs had a couple of things taken care of with his foot.  In a few weeks, it will be carpel tunnel surgery...

Kobi also had enrollment this week.  Two days of it.  This year the students will be starting school in "The just completed 82-million dollar project gives the Millers a brand new 110 acre, 35,000 square foot school as well as the football stadium that includes a double-decker press box and a two-story wellness center."  Her school is now supposed to be the most state of the art school in the state.  We toured the school... found her morning classes. The school is super nice, but man, it is huge!  They are going to have some lost students...  Of course, Kobi's classes are where she is going to have to go all the way across campus for each class.... and switch from upstairs to down stairs each time. 

The next day Kobi had a second enrollment.... She will be attending Vo-Tech/College. She will be starting college at the age of 15. CRAZINESS! She is wanting to go into special education.  The classes she is taking at the Vo-Tech will count not only as her High School Credits, but they will also count as College credits.... SO, by the time she finishes High School, She will be a Soph. in college.

For Kobi's 16th birthday, I was going to let her get her belly button pierced. I decided we better get it done now, so it has time to heal before school started....

And for not crying.... she even got a sucker when she was done. 

As crazy as the week has been , the most awesome thing has been the temps......

Seriously, 40 degrees cooler than last week.  I was actually able to wear jeans all day long. Soooooo NICE!

        

Nothing New

Yes.... I live on the sun in Oklahoma - well at least I thought I did.... as you have probably heard.... there are record breaking temps here this year.

It’s so hot…

The robins are laying their eggs sunny side up.

All the water buffalo at the zoo have evaporated.

the trees are whistling' for the dogs.

It's so hot, I saw squirrels fanning their nuts.

the birds had to pick up the worms with potholders.

I saw a dog chasing a cat and they were both walkin'

Farmers are feeding their chickens crushed ice to keep them from laying hard boiled eggs.

Yesterday, I got 5 minutes of rain on the way home.  Mother Nature is the biggest tease alive!

The pool is even to warm to swim in.... It feels like luke warm bath water.

I guess this is what I get for complaining about a little ol' blizzard about 6 months ago!

Kind Of a Wordless Wednesday

You just never know what you are going to see in our neighborhood.....

SAUCY & SCENTSY

So, while eating lunch one day, I was in a pinch and decided to make a run for the border and stopped at Taco Bell.  I rarely eat here. I was an Asst. Manager at one for 3 years while in college.  I do not care for the way they prep their food. BUT, still from time to time, I do eat it.

On this particular day, I ordered a couple of items but got a TON of sauce. Since when did their sauce packets become so ummmmm "saucy".

What does ^^^^^THAT have to do with taco sauce?

Seriously??  I guess my mind is warped and in the gutter.... because I am snickering like a jr high kid here....

*eyeroll*  These could actually be a lame man's pick up lines at 1am at a bar...

Sure, that's what they all say!
